Career Highlights

It's time!
September 27th marked the end of Rick's racing career. A career that started in 1956 racing quarter midget race cars at a race track located at the corner of 13 Mile rd. and Coolidge hwy. in Royal Oak, MI. Quarter midgets are 1/4 scale race cars that resemble the old Indy cars powered by one cylinder engines. The cars were capable of speeds of 30 mph. Rick continued his career racing stock cars at the old Mt. Clemens Speedway in Mt. Clemens MI through the 70's.

It was in 1978 that marked the beginning of a long racing career with his three daughters touring across the United States racing quarter midgets. They continued racing until 2001 garnering two National championships and several local and regional championships. During those 23 years they were able to see the country racing in ten states from California to Connecticut.

1997 marked the start of Rick's Legend Car racing. During that time he was able to win the Michigan Legends Series championship in 2002. He also was the INEX Michigan State Masters Champion in 2000 and 2002, Michigan Golden Masters Champion in 2007 and was able to capture 11 feature wins.

Rick plans to spend more time with his three grand children and his four year old son Adam. Rick says "after 53 years of racing I am going to spend time with my wife and son fishing, camping, golfing, and just doing things that I never had time to do before. At least I'll get a break for a year or so before Adam wants to go racing!"
